Electrical Inspections - The Law
The Electricity at Work Act 1989 states, "it is the employer's duty to provide a safe place of work". This extends to, and includes, regular Periodic Inspection and Testing.
Valid certification of electrical installations is now a common requirement of Insurance Companies before offering cover and Banks before offering lending. This can even extend to domestic homeowners in certain cases. If you're unsure of whether you need valid electrical certification or not, please contact us and we'll be happy to advise.
The maximum allowable period between periodic inspection dates depends on the type of premises.
